Announcing South Asian Queer Pride

We’re incredibly excited and proud to announce that we’ve been planning and developing the first ever South Asian Queer Pride festival in the UK, working in close collaboration with Asifa Lahore (Festival Curator), Claudia Coelho (Producer), Inspirate, and Stanley Arts.

South Asian Queer Pride 2024 will be a multi art form event, including dance, music, poetry, cabaret, burlesque and visual arts, workshops and talks, featuring local and national South Asian Queer artists, creative practitioners and community organisations.

You can find out more about this year’s theme of Shakti and the significance of this dynamic and trailblazing festival here.

The full programme and ticketing links will be announced by 5th April, so watch this space for more details! You can also follow South Asian Queer Pride on Instagram.

We are also looking for VOLUNTEERS and VENDORS to join us for the festival. Our volunteers will help us create a warm, welcoming and inclusive festival. Volunteer roles will vary from welcoming people at front-of house, to helping clear and set up spaces.

We’re also looking for Queer or Queer Friendly Henna, Arts, Crafts, Jewellery and Clothing stall holders, artists and traders to join us on the festival day, to share and sell their products/services. The ‘marketplace’ will be open from 1-7pm, as part of the festival’s daytime programme.

If either of these opportunities interest you, please contact queercroydon@gmail.com for further details.

This project has been funded by Arts Council England.
