Queer Croydon Presents… Taste The Rainbow

Queer Croydon are delighted to be taking over Beatbox at Boxpark Croydon with an evening of Queerness!

One of our many goals as Queer Croydon is to bring people together and both promote and create new Queer spaces in Croydon and South London.

Taste The Rainbow is our opportunity to come together and show that we need and are going to take space as Queer people. We’re so excited to go on this journey with Boxpark Croydon and wow – do we have a show for you! Joining us on the stage will be drag artists, pole dancers, burlesque performers, and more! It’s our great pleasure to showcase a diverse lineup of incredible local talent, including:

CompèreShepherd’s Bush

Shepherd’s Bush is a Drag Sheep exploring what it means to be human and all of the quirks and eccentricities that go with it. Call Shepherd’s your mutton dressed like lamb guide to understanding the human experience, with a dose of humour and silliness, all jumbled together to create the most special brand of chaos.

Shepherd’s Bush is the alter ego of Claudia Coelho, a proud Croydon resident. Being a queer transgender woman, Claudia is acutely aware of the lack of LGBT+ safe spaces in Croydon – this drove her to be one of the forces behind Their Majesties – a LGBT+ safe space established at The Oval Tavern. Claudia has also worked to establish Queer Croydon and the Queer Arts Network.

DJ & Performer – Asifa Lahore

Asifa Lahore is a performer known as Britain’s First Out Muslim Drag Queen and LGBT+ activist. Having been featured on stages, TV shows, in journals and countless publications across the world, Asifa is a voice for intersectional rights and a Gaysian superstar! Come spice up your life!
